Just peachy.

I love Spain. The fruit is so cheap and always seems so much nicer eaten outside in the sunshine.

Grumpy

The weather is beautiful,  the paddling pool is up, the crochet is relaxing.  And I'm about to start nights.  Again.

My work/life balance is seriously squewed and I'm really feeling it at the moment.  I wish I could drop my hours to 4 shifts a week but, financially,  that's not an option at the moment.  I suppose I'm just feeling sorry for myself but I had assumed things would be easier once I'd qualified.

In the meantime I suppose I'd better start counting my blessings again,  and remind myself of all the reasons I am very lucky.

As I was saying...

...works in progress.  I have a few!  And I have promised myself that I WILL NOT start anything else until these are finished.   This baby blanket was originally for some friends of Mark's who have just had a baby.  They didn't know which sex they were having so I had planned to start working on a blanket that would be suitable for either.  Their baby boy actually arrived seven weeks early so this blanket is going to be late.  I'm undecided if this is slightly girly for a boy? Hmmmm.

And this HUGE blanket I started over 6 months ago (inspired by Little Tin Bird).  Maybe even more like 8.  I got a bit bored of working ever increasing granny squares but, looking at it spread out over the bed, I feel re-inspired to crack on and get it finished - I hadn't realised quite how little there is left until it's finished.  I love it against the plain duvet cover!  So this is number 2 on my WIP list.

4This Attic 24 ripple blanket I started ages ago too, for a friend at work who is pregnant.  I think her baby girl is now approximately 3 months old, so I REALLY need to get a shifty on.  But I'm feeling uninspired by the colours.  It's not quite right.  They are all colours that I've used before, and loved, but I'm not enjoying them in this blanket.   To carry on regardless, or unravel and start again - that is the question.

Poorly.

I've been grounded by a bad case of a tummy bug and am still feeling a little tender and sore.  Between snoozing and spending lots of time in the bathroom I've been having a lovely browse on Pinterest.  There's such beautiful craftiness out there that's it easy it feel inspired.  However,  I've got so many half finished projects around the house that I CAN'T start anything new.  I absolutely love the blanket that Little Woolie has recently started.  I love the tighter circles and the way the colours seem to pop.  Hmmmm. Patience.

The weather has turned grim again.  So my lovely stripy blanket has come out again, bed socks are on and I've plonked myself on the sofa for some lazy crochet recuperation.

Sweet pea

Excited!  The first sweet pea in my garden has just bloomed.  I've never grown anything from seed before and I've become over protective of my little (and not so little) seedlings.  So I'm now on full blown sweet pea patrol everytime I step into the garden.

I really must get out more.

More of my sunny afternoon...

A lovely afternoon.

We have beautiful weather on a DAY THAT I'M NOT WORKING!  A rarity and a real treat. Mark is at golf so stress levels in the house are at a minimum.  I'm having a wonderful time whipping up these little circles, which only take approximately 7-8 minutes each. The kids are in the paddling pool. All in all, a lovely relaxing HOT afternoon. Bliss.

Bristol Aquarium

We had a wonderful day out with the Brenchley's yesterday. I tackled my fear of motorway driving and we headed down to Bristol Aquarium, followed by lunch at Za Za Bazaar. I even managed to sneak a cache in!
