20+2
We had our 20 week scan this evening, and I'm still on a high!! Everything looks good, measurements are correct, etc, etc but the most exciting thing was that we finally found out the sex...WE'RE HAVING A LITTLE BOY!! We are SO chuffed!! After having so many problems with this pregnancy (placenta wasn't attached properly, lots of heavy bleeds, 7 weeks bed rest, etc) I was just concerned that we would have a healthy baby. However, I knew that Mark was really really hoping for a boy. It sort of felt fair that he got his wish because he has had to look after me for almost all of this pregnancy and has taken over all the cooking, household chores, etc...BLESS HIM! Anyway, when the gynocologist asked us if we wanted to know the sex, we said yes, and he told us...I feel like I've been grinning like an idiot ever since lol!
I'm really pleased and can't wait to start looking at baby boys stuff, clothes, nursery themes, etc!So far, this pregnancy has been very slow and very stressful. I'm hoping that now we know that everything is OK with the baby and all bleeds have stopped, maybe things will start to move along a little quicker. Fingers crossed! It doesn't help that I am one of the most impatient people I know!
I did get a severe telling off though...as I've put on too much weight already. The gynocologist has given me a diet to stick to, based on 2000 kcals a day. It actually looks really boring and bland but, after being lectured on the dangers of piling on anymore weight, I know I need to be sensible. He said that my blood pressure has already started to rise too. I need to start taking a walk every day and maybe swimming a couple of times a week. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz!
I did get some piccies from the scan and will post them when Mum has scanned them for me. Just can't wait to meet the real, end product!!
