TWO WEEKS OLD TODAY!!!
Mark is coing home tonight - yay! I'm really looking forward to seeing him, although I've really surprised myself about how well I've managed. I'm not sure why I'm surprised - I'm used to living on my own because Mark and I have only lived together since last August - before that he was commuting out here to Spain every 2nd or 3rd weekend. Maybe I just thought that I'd fall apart, having to look after Lily plus a tiny baby, but luckily I seem to have taken it all in my stride! Mind you, thht's not going to get Mark off the hook and I expect that he'll have years of mick taking, about how he abandoned us all when Paddy was only 10 days old lol!!
Paddy is FABULOUS!! Not only is he cute, but he's such a good baby. Most nights he has a feed around midnight and then sleeps through to 7 or 8am. I think we've only had 3 rough nights since he was born. He's a really happy little chap and seems to be growing really well. I've had to chop all the feet of his newborn baby gros because he couldn't fit his huge slabs of meat i.e. feet into them!!I've given in and given him a dummy although I hate the things. Last week I was so sore and I'm sure that he was only comfort sucking. I justified it to myself by thinking that I'd rather he was breastfed and had a dummy that was bottle fed without. He loves it! Anyway, we really must try and make sure that we don't give it to him too much.
Lily is still being great - she's been so good and really helpful too. She's turning out to be a fab big sister and all the worrying I did about jealousy while I was pregnant seems to have been for nothing - thank God!!
The weather here is great again today, after torrential rain all of yesterday afternoon. We're off over to my Mum's for Sunday lunch and will probably end up sitting on the verandah for the afternoon - it's a hard life! I want to get back in enough time to finish tidying up the apartment before we head off to the airport. My Mum and Hans had arranged with Mark that they would pick him up but I think I'll go instead and take the kids! I'm planning to make a 'welcome home Daddy' sign and stick it to the pram! Mum suggested that we make one that says 'Are you my Daddy?' instead but I think Mark feels guilty enough about being away withou making him feel worse! I'll give it a few days before I pick on him about it lol!!
